I am retired from the federal government. Can I have state tax withheld from my pension?

Yes. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management provides a 24-hour automated phone service for tax withholding assistance. There are no forms to fill out. Call 1-800-409-6528 to begin, change, or stop the withholding of Maryland income taxes from your annuity check. Be sure to have your CSA or CSF retirement claim number handy - and your Social Security number. When requested to select a state, enter code 63 and press 2 for Maryland.
