Form 503 - Short Form for Resident Individuals

You may be able to use short Form 503 to file your state income taxes if:

  • You are a full time resident of Maryland (part-year residents, nonresidents, fiscal year taxpayers and returns covering less than a 12-month period, cannot use Form 503).
  • You do not itemize deductions.
  • You have no additions or subtractions from income.
  • You did not make estimated income tax payments for the current year.
  • You did not have a tax refund applied to your estimated tax account for the current year.
  • You have not requested an extension by filing Form 502E.
  • You do not claim a tax credit using either Form 500CR or 502CR.
  • You do not want all or part of your refund credited to next year's estimated tax account.
