Mailing Instructions

You can mail all of your Maryland income tax forms and payments to:

Certified mail

If you wish to send your return by certified mail, keep in mind that it will not result in special handling by the Comptroller's Office. Due to mail delivery arrangements with the U.S. Postal Service, it may even take longer to process and could delay any refund that you may have coming to you.

Overnight mail

If you wish to send your items by overnight mail, your overnight mail vendor should use the following address:

Delivery services

We follow the IRS rule for timely filing of returns and payments as outlined in IRS Notice 97-26. This rule allows the use of private delivery services designated by the Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, as well as the use of the U.S. Postal Service.

The following is a list of designated vendors and types of services:
