Earned Income Credit

Maryland's Earned Income Credit (EIC) is a special tax break for taxpayers who work and earn up to a certain amount of income. You qualify for Maryland's EIC if you qualify for the Federal earned income credit. On your Maryland return, you can claim an earned income credit equal to 50% of the Federal earned income credit. Some low-income workers will qualify for a refundable earned income credit.
