As a federal government retiree, you can have state tax withheld from your pension.

The U.S. Office of Personnel Management provides an online service for retirees to begin, change or stop the withholding of Maryland income taxes from your annuity at www.servicesonline.opm.gov. You may also contact the Office Of Personnel Management by phone at 1 (888) 828-9451 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. In the Washington, DC area, the number is (202) 606-0706. TTD users can call toll-free at 1 (800) 878-5707 or in the Washington, DC area at (202) 606-0551.

Be sure to have your CSA or CSF retirement claim number handy - and your Social Security number when using the online service or contacting by phone.
